Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

It's not an admission of guilt, but it becomes quite difficult to defend yourself or simply note your point of view when you're attacked by someone much more famous than you and and by all her followers. Goodbye.. for now.

You are a beautiful young, talented girl and you need to ignore this "attacker" to be very honest, she wouldn't of attacked your work if she didn't feel threatened by your great artwork. I am very annoyed that you have been treated so poorly by someone and I honestly feel for you, nobody deserves such treatment by anyone. But please don't let the person win by giving up on your account. Just block the person and move on. People that do things like that are in my opinion, cowards.
